The Regional District of Central Okanagan has become one of the most desirable places in which to live in the Province of BC. It is located in the heart of the scenic Okanagan Valley, just a five-hour drive from Vancouver and the Lower Mainland and about two hours north of the border with Washington State along Highway 97.  The appeal of Okanagan Lake, the natural beauty of the surrounding hillsides and the fragrant orchards and vineyards continue to draw people to the valley.,The lifestyle is second to none especially for those who live to enjoy the outdoors. Summer provides hot, dry and mostly sunny conditions that are perfect for activities on the land (camping, golf, tennis, hiking) or on the water (boating, fishing, water skiing). Winters find residents Nordic or downhill skiing, snowmobiling or even walking along our unique Mission Creek Greenway Trail. Ranked as the third largest urban area in the Province, more than 160,000 people call the Central Okanagan home.

The Regional District places a priority on maintaining the balance between growth and development, while protecting the natural environment and the unique Okanagan lifestyle. Created in 1967, the Regional District is one of 29 in the Province. (
Detailed Map) It is made up of two unincorporated electoral areas and the four member municipalities of Kelowna, West Kelowna, Peachland and Lake Country.

Registration (in good standing) with your respective Colleges.

Physicians if you are not registered in British Columbia or are an International Medical Graduate (IMG) we would be willing to assist you with the process of becoming duly registered with the college.

Note: The College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC) requires physicians who have completed medical education outside of Canada, and are seeking registration/licensure in BC, to submit copies of certain credentials to for source verification.

Your medical degree and passport must be verified as “Passed” before licensure by the College is approved. The College has recently launched the use of the new Application for Medical Registration in Canada (AMRC); a centralized online portal through for submitting an application for registration. Candidates who may qualify for full registration and licensure may submit an application to CPSBC via the AMRC portal.
All other candidates must first register with Health Match BC for an initial assessment and should NOT submit an AMRC application until instructed to proceed.

Please monitor the
CPSBC website for additional updates.

The BC Ministry of Health has introduced a number of new contract options for BC’s physicians. They provide more choice for established and new-to-practice family physicians who want to move away from Fee-for-Service (FFS) and practice in a different way, and support for physicians whose Fee-for-Service practices continue to be significantly destabilized due to conditions resulting from COVID-19. Group contracts will also continue to be offered to anesthesiologists and ER physicians.
